Assessment and Diagnosis
The assessment and diagnosis is probably the most important part of your treatment programme. During your first appointment your physiotherapist will ask you a series of different questions and perform specific tests. Together this allows us to form a differential diagnosis which in turn enables us to formulate the correct treatment plan.
It is during this stage of your treatment that any need for further investigation will be highlighted and referral onto a further party can be arranged. The team at Emma James Physiotherapy have string relationships with leading orthopaedics consultants and self funding MRI clinics along with a mass of other health care professionals.
From the assessment your physiotherapist will take their findings and discuss with you the diagnosis and treatment plan. Together you will set personal treatment goals that you can both work to.
At this stage the physiotherapist will be able to give you an idea of the length of your treatment programme. However we all heal at different rates and some people are more compliant with their exercises and advice, therefore healing times can vary enormously.
