Sports Specific Rehabilitaion and Assessment
At Emma James Physiotherapy Clinic we understand the needs of a sports person, with their desire to return to sporting activities as promptly as possible whilst maintaining their fitness level, combined with the need to prevent re-occurrence of an injury.
Each sporting activity has specific movement patterns, which lead to specific injuries.
Here at Emma James we are committed to working with the individual and any personal instructors to ensure we understand all the key elements required to ensure optimum recovery time.
As athletes you demand your body to perform at a high level, so it is important you have efficient core stability in the lumbo-sacral region, as the pelvis is the key support, which our limbs are suspended from and ours spine sits on. Often ongoing major and minor injuries i.e. the recurrent hamstring strain or running niggles that just do not settle, are caused by having an inefficient core stability. Clinical Pilates will address this and so forms an important element in the rehabilitation process (for full details please see the Clinical Pilates and Reformer Programmes page).
