Helen Andrews
BSC (hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, Level Two Swimming Teacher
I graduated from Southampton University and moved back home to Hertfordshire where I grew up as a child. My interest in physiotherapy started at a young age. Being a competitive butterfly swimmer at the age of 14 and having hyper-mobile joints, I developed shoulder problems and underwent a vigorous and intensive physiotherapy programme to get me back to competing again. It was this experience that inspired me to follow a career in physiotherapy.
Since then I have gained a wide range of experience dealing with and treating a variety of problems and pathologies covering neurological, musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions. My main interest lies in sports physiotherapy for both acute and chronic injuries. I am currently involved with Tring Rugby Club, providing physiotherapy alongside training sessions and during matches on a regular basis to both the senior and junior teams. I am also a senior coach for Tring Swimming Club.
Alongside my sports club work, I also work closely in conjunction with personal trainers and dieticians to provide a high quality physiotherapy service for clients at Matt Roberts Personal Training Gyms in London. Both require me to carry out comprehensive assessments and develop specific treatment plans individually tailored to achieve the goals of the individual.
